The next club meeting on 20th July 2009 will be a swap shop, where members and any non members who would like to come along can swap their surplus stock.

Also visiting the club on the 20th will be Barry Davison the secretary of the Farnboruogh Philatelic Society and the secretary of the Farnboruogh and the Hampshire packet scheme to explain how the scheme works.  Barry will be accompnaied by his wife who looks after the accounting side of the packet schemes.

Non-members are welcome to come along and see what the Ash Stamp Club does and also to talk to all things stamps. 

At the recent club meeting on 15th June the club welcomed John Baron, the Association of British Philatelic Societies Executive Committee Vice Chairman.   John presented two talks starting with “The Financial World Tonight” and “The Developement of the Lottery”,  Both of the talks were social Philatelic Displays with a fair amount of good humour.

The recent club meeting held on 18th May 2009 was the clubs Annual General Meeting.  There was also a Members competition using the Letter E. 

The club meeting on 20th April 2009 was totally different.  Instead of a meeting at the St. Peter’s Centre the club went on an “away evening”.  Club members met at St. Peter’s at 18:30 and travelled to the Farnborough Stamp Club Auction held at Oak Farm School, Ballantyne Road, Farnborough.  Viewing was from 19:00 and the auction started at 19:45. 

The last club meeting was held on 16th March 2009 and featured a presentation given by club member, Mike Jacobs.  Mike’s presentation was on the evolution and development of various types of paperincluding that used for the printing  of stamps. 

The recent club meeting on Monday 16th February 2009 saw the welcome return of guest speaker John Lea, FRPSL.  John will be displaying his Disaster Mail collection.

The first club meeting of 2009 was held on 19th January 2009 and consisted of a Swap Shop and Members evening.

The last club meeting of 2008 was held on 15th December. It was the clubs Christmas Social Evening, with light refreshments being served.  There was a Members display where members mounted a 2 x A4 page display. The display featured the letter R. The eventual winner being a display of Robins. 

The last club meeting on 17th November featured guest speaker Tony Findlayson, who will display his Australian King George V collection.

Anyone is welcome to the visit our club meetings, whether you are a serious collector or just a beginner.  Please come along on the evening and meet with the club members and who knows you may finish up joining the club.

The last club meeting held on 20th October see a presentation by club chairman, Harry Coupland, on the Queen Elizabeth II “Wilding” Issues.
